2024 Spring Preview | Women's Outdoor Track and Field

Iowa Western has a stranglehold on the ICCAC Region 11 Track & Field scene at the moment. The Reivers are coming off their third Indoor National Championship in the last five seasons to go along with two Outdoor Championships in the same span. The Reivers are once again the favorites heading into the spring.

Iowa Western won three Indoor individual titles and had 16 top five finishers at the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Meet. Ethel Amissah won the 400 Meter, Mercy Honesty won the Triple Jump and the Reivers won the 4x400 Meter Relay. Based on the other results of the ICCAC at the meet, they may not have much competition when it comes to the Region 11 Championship meet. They won the Indoor regional by over 100 points.

The Iowa Central Tritons are next up, and the reigning Region 11 Outdoor Champions. The Tritons hope to bring back pieces from early season injuries to make them more competitive come early May. Despite that, the Tritons will always have some of the top athletes in the country scattered throughout their roster --- i.e. Tina Samson, the 2024 Indoor Pentathlon champion.

Indian Hills has some of the league's best sprinters returning in Adalin Robinson and Shanice Cox. Oarabile Tshosa is another name to keep an eye on after the Indoor season.

Southeastern had their strongest season every last year based on the depth of their middle distance runners. A number of those athletes are returning to the track this spring -- including Aisha Ramone, SCC's touted cross country runner. She took top 3 in both the Mile and 3000 Meter at the Indoor regional. Arianna Pedrin will be another Blackhawk to watch progress.

Hawkeye has some runners in the same class as Southeastern as Maddie Tieskotter is the reigning 3000 Meter champion. Anna Dietzenbach and Amber Homan join her as two names you might see in other events, including Relays.

NIACC and Southwestern round out the field that will compete at this year's Outdoor regional in early May.
